Colton Hood's interception, celebration steals show at Giants rookie minicamp
Colton Hood stole the show at New York Giants rookie minicamp on Saturday with an interception and "Hood"celebration.
New York Giants rookie cornerback Colton Hood is quickly making his mark at rookie minicamp, delivering both highlight-reel plays and a notable moment on Saturday. In a routine Cover 2 period, Hood's receiver broke short while he matched the running back to the flat (Miles Davis). The Tennessee product broke sharply on the throw, snatched the ball from Davis' hands to secure the interception, and would have brought it back for a 55-yard score if it were a live game.
Initially, he showed restraint and declined to celebrate. “It’s practice. I’m not really going to celebrate on my teammates," he told reporters.
But defensive backs coach Addison Lynch and the staff urged him on, prompting Hood to unleash his signature: The "Hood” celebration. The move has since exploded online, catching the rookie by surprise.
