Match review: Real Salt Lake falls short to FC Dallas in 3-1 road match
Two early goals from Dallas proves to be too much for RSL to overcome

After Dallas drew first — and second — blood early in the first half, RSL fought to level the score, but their offensive threats weren’t quite enough to overcome the early deficit.
Luna’s late spark not enough to overcome early Dallas double Real Salt Lake’s relentless pressure was met with a clinical counterpunch as FC Dallas struck twice in six minutes to take an early lead. Dallas attacker Santiago Moreno opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a strike from outside the box to the left corner of the net, before Kaick Ferreira doubled the home side’s lead in the 24th minute. RSL threatened to respond later in the half, highlighted by a strong effort from Noel Caliskan, who’s shot curled towards the right corner from outside the box, but was tipped away by FC Dallas goalkeeper Michael Collodi.
RSL found a late breakthrough in the 84th minute when U. S. World Cup hopeful Diego Luna finished off an assist from Designated Player Morgan Guilavogui to cut the Dallas lead down 2-1.
Just a few moments later, FC Dallas answered as Samuel Sarver won a foot race into the box and finished past a diving Rafael Cabral to seal the result in the closing minutes, giving the Texas team the home victory.
