Jefferson's boys track and field team joined the Metro Classic at the last minute and wound up setting a pair of school records.
GIBRALTAR – Jefferson’s track and field team didn’t plan to compete in the Metro Classic. Several of the boys convinced coach Josh Ludwick they should attend in hopes of recording state-qualifying times. The Bears wound up breaking two school records in relays and getting one of those relays through to state during the meet at Gibraltar Carlson on Saturday, May 9.

Zane Knezevich replaced him and combined with Maddex Shotwell, Josh Hargreaves and Orion Galloway to win with a school-record and state-qualifying time of 3:23. 42. The previous record was set in 2021.
