Back in January, Dana White brought Jai Opetaia on board before he became Zuffa Boxing’s first champion, and since then, more top-tier fighters have joined the fold. But it’s his ongoing partnership with Conor Benn that stands out as the most significant move so far.

However, that might not hold true for much longer. Reports suggest White is close to landing another major name from within the sport. The American already holds an unbeaten record over 25 fights, and earlier this year he won both the WBO and The Ring junior welterweight belts by defeating Teofimo Lopez. Even though Conor Benn has his sights set on a fight with Ryan Garcia, signing Stevenson would give Dana White another high-profile option for the Brit’s next opponent. Benn stepped into the ring after Stevenson’s win in January and said he’d be willing to take on the new champion if he moved up a weight class.

Although Hearn promoted that fight, it was reported at the time that Stevenson was working under a fight-by-fight arrangement with Lou DiBella rather than being tied down to a long-term contract.
