Alabama baseball coach Rob Vaughn has provided an update on the status of catcher Brady Neal after the senior exited game two at South Carolina.

Alabama baseball catcher Brady Neal won't return to the series at South Carolina. Crimson Tide coach Rob Vaughn told Crimson Tide Sports Network after the 9-6 win on Saturday, May 9 that Alabama's batting average and OPS leader will be unavailable for Sunday's finale as he remains in concussion protocol. Neal is one of three Crimson Tide players to get banged up since the team has been in Columbia.

He's joined on the injured reserve by shortstop Justin Lebron, who exited the opener after a collision at first base. In the first at-bat of the day, Neal took a foul ball to the mask. Like Lebron, Neal stayed in the game after hitting the ground.

However, he was pulled after further consideration. Vaughn said Neal "felt fine immediately after. " The longer he stayed out on the field, though, Neal felt off, according to Vaughn, who noted the senior is "kind of in the same boat" as Lebron.

Without Lebron and Neal, the Crimson Tide looks to complete the sweep on May 10 starting at 12:30 p. m. CT.
