Some images revealed Wolfsburg’s Jeanuël Belocian tampering with the penalty spot before Kane’s shot.
This action is being attributed to have caused the possible slip-up by Kane from the penalty spot. The Bayern manager however, did not have much to complain. Instead, he regrets not putting men around the spot to prevent such an event from occurring in the first place.
Should guarding the penalty spot be a standard measure going forward? Vincent Kompany was quizzed over the alleged penalty spot tampering incident. Specifically over what should have been done to prevent such interventions from opposition players.
Kompany answered that occasions where the team feels a greater pressure to score would have had a different outcome. On Belocian’s action, Vincent Kompany says that shouldn’t be happening, but he also can understand it due to Wolfsburg’s situation • The reporter then said: “When Argentina get a penalty, you see several players shielding Messi and the penalty spot so something like that doesn’t happen. Is that not something you should be considering?
