How to watch Truist Championship on Saturday At the halfway point of the Truist Championship, Sungjae Im holds a slim, one-shot lead at 9-under following a second-round 69. After being sidelined for five months due to a wrist injury, Im returned this past March and now finds himself in position to chase his third PGA TOUR win. During a post-round press conference after Friday’s round, he credited his strong driving performance and past Presidents Cup experience for his strong start through two rounds.
“I’m keeping it in the fairways, as you see there on the data. So it makes it easier for me to hit my second shots on the green in difficult pin positions,” Im said, “because of the play with the Presidents Cup, I know where to miss the greens, I’m very familiar with this golf course. ” For Im, the only part of his game that still feels slightly out of sync is the putter — an area where Tommy Fleetwood, who sits one stroke back, has excelled through two rounds.
“I think the greens are very, very difficult and I just had a really good eye for it over the first two days and I putted well and that’s been a big difference for me,” Fleetwood said. Fleetwood sits at 8-under after opening the week with back-to-back 67s. The 2025 FedExCup champion enters the weekend firmly in contention as he searches for his second PGA TOUR title.
