The Seattle Seahawks made the bold decision to draft a running back in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price No.
32 overall. He will compete for a starting spot this season with Kenneth Walker in Kansas City, and Zach Charbonnet is likely to miss a lot of time due to an ACL tear recovery. There's reason for excitement, as ESPN's Matt Bowen noted that Price is a great fit with the Seahawks offense, thanks to the new offensive coordinator utilizing run schemes that work well with Price.
"(Brian) Fluery worked under Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco, meaning the wide zone run game will be a foundational scheme," Bowen writes. "Price should fit well with that, as he has the vision and lower- body control to stretch the edges or puncture the interior gaps. " While that's reason to get excited about Price in his rookie season, there is still one big issue, beyond Price's playing time, that is cause for concern: his receiving ability.
Jadarian Price has a big receiving concern The Seahawks don't need Price to be an every-down running back, but they will need him to factor into the offense in more than just the running game. Pass protection is a big issue, and something the Seahawks will have to hope Price can be good at right away. But, beyond pass protection, Price also will need to prove he's a capable receiver.
