Rylee Marx also homered on a 9-hit, 17-run day for Aledo. Monterey finished with more errors (4) than hits (3) in the loss. The Ladycats take on Abilene in the 5A Div.

II Brock 16-2 Canyon [5 innings] * Kat Utley: 2-3, R, 5 RBI * Laynie Marriott: 2-3, R, 3 RBI, BB * Ali Coleman: 2 RBI, 3 BB / 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER * Brock 2-0 series win Much like Aledo, Brock punched its ticket into the next round in a big way with 16 runs on 10 hits in game two versus Canyon.
After going up 4-0 in the second inning, Brock opened the floodgates in the fourth with 12 runs. Surprisingly, Brock had no extra-base hits and did all of its damage through singles and walks. In the 12-run frame, Brock had eight singles and six walks or hit by pitches.
