West Milford boys lacrosse wins Passaic County title in nailbiter
There's a new king in Passaic County boys lacrosse: West Milford.
WAYNE – There's a new king in Passaic County boys lacrosse. Top-seed West Milford knocked off second seed Wayne Valley, 8-7, in the county championship Saturday on Valley Road. It's the first county title for the Highlanders and comes after losing three straight finals to Wayne Valley from 2023 to 2025.
Senior goalie Tyler Acanfrio made 17 saves in the win and Jacob Price added two goals for a balanced Highlander offense. Wayne Valley made things interesting by scoring the last four goals, including one with four seconds left. But time expired on the ensuing faceoff when Highlanders FOGO Brendan Coscia pushed the ball forward.
