New York Giants' John Harbaugh: Kicker 'competition' has already started
The New York Giants desperately need consistency and durability at kicker, and the competition for the starting role has already begun.
One of the biggest struggles for the New York Giants over the last few seasons has been in the kicking game. Well, the entire special teams unit has struggled, but finding a kicker who is not only consistent but also durable has been a major problem. With the overhaul of the Giants' coaching staff this year, the entire special teams unit also saw an overhaul.
The Giants signed veteran kicker Jason Sanders in free agency, retained left-footed Ben Sauls, and signed Dominic Zvada as an undrafted free agent ahead of rookie minicamp this weekend. There will be competition for the job among the three kickers, something John Harbaugh addressed today at minicamp. "It's going to be a competition, for sure.

"Right out of the gates, it already started. You saw Zvada, that was his first iteration at that competition. When we come in next week, we'll be kicking field goals.
