Penn State's 2026 White Out opponent feeling pretty obvious
Penn State's potential White Out game against USC on October 10 is expected to be a massive event, kicking off a tough stretch.
While it has not officially been set in stone just yet, the date and opponent for Penn State 's next White Out game feels like it has already been determined. As soon as the Big Ten schedules were released, everyone seemingly penciled in the date of October 10, when USC comes to Beaver Stadium for the first time in 32 years. Most importantly, it could be Penn State's first ranked opponent they face all season.
Also, the date aligns perfectly as NBC will not be broadcasting a Notre Dame night game on that date. While the Fighting Irish will still play against Stanford on that date, it will start at 3:30 PM ET, setting the stage for a prime-time Big Ten game. A game of this magnitude will perfectly channel the energy of last year's White Out, when Penn State welcomed Oregon to Beaver Stadium for the first time since 1964.
Not only did those attending break the official White Out attendance record, but they nearly set the all-time attendance record for Beaver Stadium. For Penn State, this will perhaps be the beginning of one of its toughest stretches on the schedule. After they face USC, they go on the road to face the Michigan Wolverines and then to Seattle to take on Washington.
It is paramount that they get a massive win and a tone-setting send-off for this road test. Welcoming USC back to a full-on White Out crowd could end up doing the trick. At the end of the day, with the way Penn State's schedule has shaken out, it is expected that they should be able to make a run at the CFP.
