Jaylinn Hawkins says the Ravens' rich defensive history was a key reason he joined the team, aiming to add to its legacy.

The Ravens have built one of the NFL's most respected defensive traditions over the last several decades. From Ray Lewis and Ed Reed to Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata, Baltimore's identity has always been connected to dominant defense. Jaylinn Hawkins clearly understands the history attached to joining this organization.

What was it like for Hawkins walking into the Ravens facility knowing the players and defenses that came before him? During his appearance on The Collective podcast , Hawkins admitted that the history inside the building immediately stood out to him. “Yeah, man.

It’s very cool. I mean, like I said, that was one of the reasons why I chose… to come to the Ravens to be a part of greatness. Like I said, the history, it’s very historical.

When you walk in the building, you feel that vibe. Um, you know, there’s so many great have been in that building and played in that defense and played on that team. So, I always pay homage to those guys and, you know, want to try to do that on my own and help us win.
