Weather has moved the first pitch of this Top 10 tourney final up to Noon CST. So make that brunch & buckle up.
The most important news pre-game is the start time being moved up due to inclement weather. Game time is now 12:00pm CST (1pm Eastern if you’re here in Maryland) It appears the system has shifted and chances of rain reduced overnight, but last night’s forecast made it look like rain was likely literally starting around gametime and lasting a few hours. Better to kick off early and assure they get it in.
The game will still be broadcast on the Big 10 Network. FINAL vs. UCLA – THINGS TO LOOK FOR: These two Top 10 squads met in Lincoln in late March with the Huskers taking two of three on a windy weekend.
The wind blew in on Friday and out on Saturday and Sunday. Winds have not been much of a factor in College Park and are again only expected around 5-10mph. This game will likely have minimal effect on either team’s RPI and, by extension, their seedings for the NCAA tournament starting next weekend.
Nevertheless, a tournament championship is always a big feather on the mantle – or something like that. UCLA fell short in last year’s final and Nebraska is trying for the season double title after winning the regular season crown. This will be an intense match-up.
