Former Falcons kicker attends Saints rookie minicamp
Younghoe Koo, the former Falcons kicker, is trying out for the Saints
The Atlanta Falcons released kicker Younghoe Koo early in the 2025 season after he missed a potential game-tying field goal attempt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . Koo, a former Pro Bowler who spent six years in Atlanta, has struggled to find work in his post-Falcons career. Former Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo has struggled to find consistent work since being released at the start of his seventh season in Atlanta.
After failing to catch on with the New York Giants last year, Koo is looking to land a job with the New Orleans Saints . The 31-year-old attended Day 1 of the Saints' rookie minicamp on Friday. Koo has a chance to pull the ultimate payback move if he ends up signing with Atlanta's most-hated rival.
Despite his recent struggles, he was fairly reliable for six-plus years in Atlanta. Koo converted 178 of 205 field-goal attempts and 166 of 173 extra-point attempts over 89 starts for the Falcons. He signed with the team late in the 2019 season as Matt Bryant's replacement.
Koo stuck around for the next five seasons before getting cut by Atlanta in 2025. From there, Koo went to the New York Giants but was released after missing two kicks in a loss against the Washington Commanders. Perhaps Koo can turn things around in New Orleans, however, it is somewhat unsettling to see him wearing a Saints uniform.
