KKR registered their fourth consecutive win after defeating Delhi Capitals by eight wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Friday. The victory came on the back of a sensational unbeaten century from Finn Allen, while Green also chipped in with a useful 33 runs and picked up the wicket of Nitish Rana in his lone over.
The win marked another step in KKR’s turnaround after they began the season without a single victory in their first six matches. Despite the poor start, the Kolkata-based franchise has now climbed to seventh place in the points table and revived their playoff hopes. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Green opened up about his bowling workload after initially being managed carefully due to a lower-back injury.
The Australian all-rounder revealed that he is now completely ready to bowl four overs whenever required. “I’m 100% ready to bowl four overs. I think just the makeup of our team helps.
We have Anukul Roy, who has been exceptional for us, bowling one or two overs. That means I can bowl two or three overs, which has been a really big help,” Green said. He also highlighted how KKR’s balanced bowling attack gives the side flexibility with multiple options throughout the innings.
