If Bayern Munich fails to get Anthony Gordon, should it consider using Jamal Musiala at wing next season?

Does FC Bayern have a summer solution already in house?

On paper, it makes a lot of sense.

Bayern still would need a player to challenge Luis Díaz and Serge Gnabry, and Lennart Karl would be back to man the No. 10 position. Musiala remains the club’s most gifted dribbler and arguably its best one-v-one attacker.

Putting him on the wing instantly gives Bayern someone capable of breaking defensive structures without needing perfect buildup play. There is also a practical side to it. Bayern’s attacking midfield options are much deeper than their wing depth right now.

If Gordon does not arrive, Bayern may simply need Musiala’s creativity on the flank more than they need him permanently in the middle. That said, there is a real argument against the move as well — especially any potential guarantees made during Musiala’s contract negotiations that pertained to his position. There were rumors that part of the agreement was reliant on Musiala being the team’s attacking midfielder.
