Bluff's Torres, T-M duo claim medals at UIL State Tennis Tournament

Flour Bluff freshman Victoria Torres and Tuloso-Midway doubles duo Tristen Dowless and Audrey Arango won medals at the UIL State Tennis Tournament.

Flour Bluff freshman Victoria Torres marched to the championship match of the Class 5A girls singles draw at the UIL State Tennis Tournament, before she was upended by Abilene Wylie's Hope Willis. Willis took the straight sets win 6-1, 6-2 to win the state title as Torres brought home the silver medal, capping a stellar first season for the Hornets where she was also instrumental in helping the Hornets advance to the Class 5A state championship match in team tennis. Tuloso-Midway's girls doubles duo of Tristen Dowless and Audrey Arango were the only other Coastal Bend representative to claim a medal during the tournament in San Antonio.
