Thunder fans address flopping slander
OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — The Thunder remain undefeated in their run for back-to-back titles after a game 2 win over the Lakers Thursday night. However, that is not what a lot of NBA fans are talking about right now, especially opposing fans. Many are taking to social media, saying Thunder players are flopping too much, and refs aren’t calling it.
Everyone we spoke with Friday agrees. They say domination from the defending champs to start the playoffs is a big reason for the slander online, and it is a villain role they will gladly take on. “I think the best teams are going to be the best and they’re going to get hate regardless,” said Nathan Dominick, Thunder fan.
Greatness, comes at a cost. “You’re successful when you start to become the villain,” said Jerry Ramsey, Radio Host on The Franchise. That is what appears to be happening to the Thunder right now as they begin the playoffs 6-0.
On social media, keyboard warriors are calling out the team for “excessive flopping. ” “This is not a topic if they are beating the Thunder on a regular basis,” said Ramsey. “Nobody was talking about Shai flopping a couple of years ago when they were winning 24-25 games.
” “There is no foul baiting, he drawing the foul,” said Damoron Green, Thunder fan. “You know, I’m saying they touching, slapping, grabbing his arm. ” Thunder fans we talked to are not having any of the slander.
