Gordon, who is a stylistic and schematic fit for what head coach Vincent Kompany wants to do, looks to be as good an option as anyone, but it will not be easy to get him.
Let’s take a look at where things stand as this pursuit figures to be lengthy and complex. Now what? According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg , the two clubs spoke about Gordon and the Magpies laid out their asking price — €90 million, a figure that is expected to drop.
Moreover, Bayern Munich is not alone in this pursuit as FC Barcelona, Arsenal, and Liverpool are also involved: 🚨🆕 There have already been club-to-club talks between FC Bayern and Newcastle regarding Anthony Gordon. Newcastle’s initial demands were up to €90m. Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool also informed.
Realistically, the fee is expected to be around €75-85m including bonuses. Bayern will not pay that. That is why talks with other candidates are also ongoing.
