Tegan Kuhns records 15 strikeouts against Texas baseball

Tennessee (33-17, 12-13 SEC) defeated No. 4 Texas (36-11, 15-9 SEC), 5-1, Friday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Tennessee led, 1-0, after the first inning as Trent Grindlinger hit a RBI single, scoring Blake Grimmer .

The Vols would extend their advantage to, 3-0, in the second inning after Manny Marin doubled. The Longhorns committed an error on the play, allowing Levi Clark to score. Marin later scored on a wild pitch.

Tennessee added two runs in the seventh inning after Grimmer hit a two-run single. Grimmer went 2-for-4. He recorded two RBIs and scored one run, while Grindlinger went 1-for-4 and recorded one RBI.

Texas scored in the eighth inning on a solo home run by Aiden Robbins off Tennessee reliever Brandon Arvidson . Tegan Kuhns (4-4) started for the Vols. He pitched seven innings and allowed four hits and one walk.
