Oregon and UCLA clash in huge series: Live blog, score and analysis

Oregon clashes with No. 1 UCLA in a huge weekend baseball series at Jackie Robinson Stadium where the Ducks could dramatically improve their RPI.

You don't get to shock the world very often, so when the opportunity comes, you'd better take advantage of it. That's what faces the Oregon Ducks baseball team this weekend as they go down to Los Angeles and face the No. 1 team in the country, the UCLA Bruins .

Oregon hasn't faced the No. 1 team in the country very often in its history. The Ducks are 3-7 in such games, but they did take two of three from the Bruins last season at PK Park, if that means anything.

UCLA is a legitimate No. 1 as the Bruins have an incredible record of 44-4 and are undefeated in Big Ten play at 24-0. They have swept eight straight conference series.

Those are numbers that are almost impossible to believe. To put it in perspective, the Ducks have a great overall record of 34-14 and that is still 10 whole games behind UCLA. It had a 27-game winning streak earlier in the season that was snapped when UC-Santa Barbara defeated the Bruins.
