However, with the latest uncharacteristic antics from superstar guard Jaylen Brown, the national media has been forced to raise the discussion once again. Unfortunately, this time it feels a little different. In the debates of old, it was Boston fans debating whether the team needed to shake things up to win the Larry O'Brien.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum proved they did not. This time around, the trade rumors are not fueled by the inability to win the big one, but by Brown's own flippant comments. The usually eloquent superstar has gone on multiple social media rants lasting several hours, during which he voiced his frustrations, among other things, related to the Celtics' playoff loss.
Christopher Gasper of the Boston Globe told 98. 5 The Sports Hub's "Felger & Mazz" that he believes Brown does not feel equal to Tatum in the eyes of the Celtics organization. "I think he just wants to be treated like an equal of Jayson Tatum," Gasper said.
