3 reasons the Rams should consider signing CB L’Jarius Sneed
The Rams could use another cornerback on their depth chart and L’Jarius Sneed is available as a free agent.
The Los Angeles Rams have a roster that's ready for the 2026 NFL season, and with a few roster spots up for grabs, the team does not have an overt need to make signings via the veteran free-agent market. However, the Rams have a massive depth issue at outside corner. Recently, newly signed defensive back Jaylen Watson posted on social media , implying he would like former Kansas City Chiefs corner L'Jarius Sneed to come to Southern California.
Here are three reasons the Rams should consider bringing in Sneed as a free agent. Experience in the big moments Sneed is a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, having started in both those games. On top of that, he entered a Kansas City squad coming off their own Super Bowl win after the 2019 season, suffering tough losses in Super Bowl LV and then in the following season's AFC Championship.
Despite team failures, Sneed had the maturity to stay in the fight and improve as a player, helping the team transition away from players like Kendall Fuller and Charvarius Ward. He's been through this process before, specifically with Trent McDuffie and Watson. Perfect piece for Chris Shula's scheme Sneed is an aggressive corner who can defend against the run and who is able to blitz the quarterback from his outside position.
Acquiring Sneed would be crucial for depth as the Rams only have three outside corners with legitimate NFL experience. On top of that, Sneed is able to defend the bigger-bodied wide receivers that have given the team trouble in the past, especially with Watson being the only other corner who can match up on those pass catchers one on one. Plus, Sneed would allow McDuffie to periodically move to safety and slot corner.
