Caleb Lomu shares heartwarming draft-night story involving wife
Patriots rookie Caleb Lomu's wife knew exactly where she wanted her husband to play football.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. โ The night of the 2026 NFL Draft, Caleb Lomu and his family decided to have some fun. As family and friends gathered to be with Lomu on the memorable night, his wife Kitty printed out a large map of the United States, which had the locations of all 32 NFL teams.
And with that, they set it up so each person could guess the next place the offensive tackle would be calling home. โWe just hung that up, put it on the wall, and then everyone in the family could just get a little sticky note and put their guesses of where I was going to go,โ Lomu said. โItโs a funny story, actually, my wife actually chose New England.
โ "She was the only one who put her name on the Patriots , so that was a sign right there where I was going to go. " When recalling this story, Lomu also explained that the idea for the map was actually inspired by his faith. โIโm LDS and when you get your mission call, you do the same thing, you have the whole map and you choose where you think the person is going to go," he detailed.
