The 2026 college softball season has two players chasing down the single-season home run record. UCLA's Megan Grant and Oklahoma's Kendall Wells are in pursuit. The all-time mark is 37, which Laura Espinoza hit for Arizona in 1995.
Through action on Thursday, May 7, both Grant and Wells have hit 36. Grant at the moment has a bit of an advantage in getting there first. Wells' Sooners were upset in the SEC quarterfinals, so she won't play again until regionals.
Grant's Bruins won Thursday night and have at least one more game in the Big Ten tourney. The overall record is still totally up for grabs, but keep an eye on Grant trying to get there first.
