Virginia Tech's 2027 class vaults into top 15 amid hot streak
The Hokies have invested in new head coach James Franklin, and that's paying off as a recruiting hot streak has given Virginia Tech a top-15 class.
Virginia Tech is one of the most fascinating programs in college football in 2026 after bringing in former Penn State coach James Franklin, and the early returns are certainly promising. The Hokies added their 11th commitment in the 2027 class on Friday as three-star Baltimore safety Elijah Butler — a top 10 player in the state of Maryland — announced his commitment. Butler becomes VT's third commitment in the month of May and seventh since April 23.

Still, it's a solid start as Franklin has been handed a massive increase in investment into the program as he looks to turn around a Hokies team that hasn't won more than seven games since 2019.
