The Los Angeles Angels are reportedly calling up catching prospect Omar Martinez as their injury crisis continues. Travis d’Arnaud had been getting most of the reps for the Angels behind the plate after catcher Logan O’Hoppe fractured his wrist on a foul tip, but exited Wednesday’s game after a foul ball went off his foot. He underwent further testing after the game and the Angels are yet to make an official announcement, a news page revolving around Martinez’s LVBP team, Águilas del Zulia, announced he’d been called up.

He made it as high as Triple-A with them in 2025, but never made his MLB debut.
