Alabama's Jocelyn Briski, Patrick Murphy receive 2026 SEC awards
Alabama's Jocelyn Briski has become the sixth Alabama player to win the SEC's Pitcher of the Year award, as well as the first since 2021.
Announced by the conference on Friday, Alabama softball ace Jocelyn Briski has been named the 2026 SEC Pitcher of the Year. In addition to Briski, Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy was also named the 2026 SEC Coach of the Year, while a number of players received All-SEC honors. Briski and Brooke Wells were First Team selections, while Marlie Giles and Alexis Pupillo received Second Team All-SEC honors.
Briski is the sixth different Alabama player to receive SEC Pitcher of the Year honors, while also marking the eighth time that the award has been won by the Crimson Tide overall. Alabama's first winner since Montana Fouts in 2021, Briski now joins Stephanie VanBrakle (2006), Kelsi Dunne (2010-11), Jackie Traina (2012, 2014), and Sarah Cornell (2019). Across her 29 appearances this season, 22 of which have been starts, Briski owns a 21-2 record with a team-best 1.
38 ERA and 174:19 K:BB ratio across 136. 2 innings pitched. Briski also has 13 complete games, four shutouts, and three saves so far this season.
