Greg Weissert had a stellar 2025 season out of the Boston Red Sox 's bullpen, going 6-6 with a 2. 82 ERA, 1. 16 WHIP and 11 games finished in a team-high 72 appearances.

Weissert again leads the team in games pitched this season with 17, but thus far, the right-handed reliever hasn't repeated his success from 2025. The 31-year-old Weissert allowed one run on two hits and one walk without recording an out during the Red Sox's 8-4 loss vs. the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday.

Weissert was critical of his performance following the loss. "Yeah, itโ€™s no secret Iโ€™m pitching like (expletive)," he said, according to a report by Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic . "(Starting pitcher Jake Bennett) kept us in the game after the three-spot, and once again, I come in and blow it.
