FSU top commit is 'keeping his options open'
Mekhi Williams is the FSU Seminoles' top commit, but the in-state safety is keeping his options open with Big Ten, SEC programs circling.
The FSU Seminoles have six players committed in their 2027 recruiting class , and four-star safety Mekhi Williams is their highest-ranked commit. While he has been committed for over a year, his recruitment is not over, and the Seminoles are battling several premier programs for him. Williams recently announced an updated official visit schedule for the summer, and he will check out the Wisconsin Badgers (May 29), Seminoles (June 5), Nebraska Cornhuskers (June 12), and LSU Tigers (June 19).

22 player from Florida. According to Blostein, he wants to play cornerback at FSU, something the coaching staff is comfortable with him doing. While FSU has been recruiting Williams longer than anyone else in the country, it became the first school to offer him a scholarship back in January of 2025.
