Bayern and Canada's Davies out for several weeks with latest injury
Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies (L) and Harry Kane in action against Paris Saint-Germain's Marquinhos during the UEFA Champions League semi-final, second leg soccer match between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena. Sven Hoppe/dpa Bayern Munich left back Alphonso Davies is again injured and will be out for "several weeks" - putting his World Cup dream with co-hosts Canada at risk. Substitute Davies hurt his hamstring in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg exit to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 25-year-old is out of Bayern's last two Bundesliga games at relegation-threatened Wolfsburg on Saturday and at home to Cologne a week later, when they will receive the championship trophy. He also seems unlikely to be fit for the German Cup final against VfB Stuttgart in Berlin on May 23. The World Cup starts on June 11 and Davies is one of the stars of the Canada team, who rarely make it to the global showpiece.
Davies has suffered an array of injuries in recent times including a cruciate knee ligament tear last year. He is contracted to Bayern until 2030.
