Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III recently sat down with NBC Sports' Mike Florio to discuss when he knew that it was time to move on from the Seattle Seahawks . "I would say, if I'm being honest, sometime during the season, things didn't work out how I expected, and that's all right because it worked out for the team," said Walker , "But yeah, it was during the season, and then once free agency came around, you pretty much knew you weren't going to be there anymore. Me personally, I knew I wasn't going to be there anymore.
" Walker signed a maximum of $45,000,000 over three years, with $28,700,000 of his contract fully guaranteed to join Kansas City's backfield. He is expected to immediately change Kansas City's struggling running game, as general manager Brett Veach has praised him for his versatility. During the 2025 season, Walker rushed for 1,027 yards to go along with five touchdowns.
He was also impactful in the passing game with 31 receptions for 282 yards. The Super Bowl LX MVP is an upgrade from last year's Chiefs unit, which failed to have a player reach 1,000 yards.
