The team held a special pregame ceremony celebrating the Class of 2026: Bill Mueller, Johnny Damon, Mike Timlin, Jon Lester and the late Sherm Feller. A 2004 World Series champion, Mueller earned a "memorable moment" plaque for his walk-off home run against the New York Yankees on July 24, 2004, propelling Boston to victory in a game featuring the famous brawl between Alex Rodriguez and Jason Varitek. Timlin was a key member of the Red Sox bullpen during the final six seasons of his MLB career from 2003 to 2008, helping them win two World Series. Damon was Boston's leadoff man and center fielder from 2002 to 2005, making two All-Star teams during that span. His two home runs, including a grand slam, in Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS at Yankee Stadium sealed the pennant for the Red Sox and completed their historic comeback.
