St. Raphael had Izzy Sousa and Westerly had Frankie Arnold and the two flamethrowers put on a show. The Saints were able to scrap up two runs and that proved to be enough in a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs in a playoff-caliber game at Cimalore Field on Thursday evening.
Coming into the game, St. Raphael was seeded sixth in the Division I RPI, fractions of points behind fifth-place Westerly, and both teams were within earshot of fourth-place Cranston West. The teams’ needed a big performance from their biggest stars – and both got just that.
