Penguins beat Bears 4-1, advance to second round of AHL Playoffs

(WBRE/WYOU) — The Scranton Wilkes-Barre Penguins beat the Hershey Bears 4-1 in Game 4 of the First Round to win the series 3-1, and will move on to the second round of the AHL playoffs for the first time since 2016. Stay tuned for highlights at 11:00 p. m.

Joona Koppanen netted one just over a minute into the game to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead before a goal with just under a minute in the first period by the Bears tied things at one headed into the second. The Penguins then added on three straight from Harrison Brunicke, Ville Koivunen, and Gabe Classen to give the Penguins their 4-1 win. They will play the winner of the Providence Bruins and Springfield Thunderbirds.
