Jauan Jennings contract: NFL free agent agrees to deal with Vikings

Yahoo Sports

The Minnesota Vikings have bolstered their wide receiving corps. Jauan Jennings has agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $13 million with the Vikings, a person familiar with the contract told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to discuss the contract.

ESPN was first to report the news. Jennings was one of the top free agents still available . The 28-year-old wideout spent his first five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers .

He’s compiled 210 catches, 2,581 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns in 75 career games (32 starts). Jennings led all San Francisco wideouts in catches (55) and receiving yards (643) a season ago. He also produced a team-high and career-best nine touchdown receptions.

How Jauan Jennings fits with Minnesota Vikings The 6-foot-3 pass catcher should fit in seamlessly in a Minnesota wide receiver room that features star Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. The Vikings lacked depth behind the duo. Jennings is a physical receiver who has a big catch radius, is comfortable going over the middle and a willing blocker.

He’ll likely be the Vikings’ X-receiver. Jennings’ signing is the latest big addition for the Vikings this offseason. The Vikings signed quarterback Kyler Murray in March after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals.
