Falcons TE Kyle Pitts officially signed his franchise tag on Thursday

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts officially signed his franchise tag on Thursday, meaning he will remain with the team through the 2026 NFL season. Prior reports indicated that Pitts had signed his tender when he showed up for offseason workouts in April, but this time, it came via the league's transaction wire. Pitts signed a fully guaranteed $15.

045 million contract to stay in Atlanta for at least one more season. The former top-five selection came into the NFL with more hype than any tight end prospect the league had seen at that point. Pitts topped 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie, but his career took a dip once the team traded Matt Ryan in 2022.

After being slowed by a knee injury and ineffective quarterback play, Pitts bounced back with an 88-catch, 928-yard season in 2025. He also added a career-high five touchdowns last season. The Falcons will ask the former Florida Gator to do it again in 2026.

Pitts has 284 receptions for 3,579 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns over five seasons in Atlanta. Since the Falcons have long been expected to franchise tag Pitts, the contract numbers were already known. According to Over The Cap's projections, the team has $19.
