Donald Trump not happy with World Cup ticket prices: ‘I wouldn’t pay it’

However, the high ticket prices seem to be preventing many Americans from attending games. Apparently, the President is no exception. Over the past several weeks, fans have expressed frustration at the soaring ticket prices for World Cup games, particularly at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside of New York City.
There, matches like the group stage showdown between Brazil vs. Morocco at MetLife Stadium have a get-in-the-door ticket price of well over $2,000. It’s not just that match, either.
The average cost for a ticket to the United States’ opening match against Paraguay is well over $1,000, and the average cost of a ticket to the final is nearly $13,000, compared to about $1,600 for the 2022 championship. While FIFA president Gianni Infantino does not seem all that concerned about the high ticket prices, United States President Donald Trump did not seem all that happy when he was informed of the ticket prices this week. Trump, who lived in New York City for the majority of his life, was informed about the high ticket prices during a recent interview with the New York Post .
Trump claimed that he was not aware of just how expensive tickets were and said that even he, a billionaire, would not pay those prices, either. “I did not know that number,” Trump told the New York Post. “I would certainly like to be there, but I wouldn’t pay it either, to be honest with you.
