Kyle Loftis, founder of the auto racing YouTube channel 1320 Video, died at age 43 on Wednesday. The Sarpy County (Neb. ) Sheriff's Office confirmed Loftis' passing to People, adding that his death was registered as "not suspicious.
" An Omaha, Nebraska native, Loftis founded 1320 Video in 2003 and its nascent days were spent largely on internet message boards. Loftis capitalized on social media's rise in the 2010s and as a result turned 1320 Video into a name brand with over 10 million combined followers. 1320 Video covers a wide variety of racing events and features countless vehicles and drivers on its YouTube and social media channels.
Loftis was certainly a friendly and familiar face to viewers. After his death, 1320 Video explained Loftis' impact in a touching statement posted to Instagram. "We are extremely saddened to share that Kyle Loftis, the founder of 1320video, passed away last night," the statement read.
"We are in a state of shock. "Kyleโs passion for motorsports inspired millions of people around the world and we will never forget what he has done to grow our beloved sport. Kyle was a beam of light at every gatheringโฆ his enthusiasm, kindness, and creativeness was contagious.
