College basketball analyst argues Duke is one of two blue bloods left
CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein argues that Duke and UConn are the only blue-blood programs left in college basketball.
Fans will always be arguing over who the real blue bloods are in college basketball. There are some programs that were considered blue blood, like Indiana and UCLA, that have fallen off in the past couple of decades, while new programs like UConn are making their claim. According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, there are only two blue bloods left in college basketball: Duke and the Huskies.
“There are two programs in college basketball that are still operating as traditional Blue Bloods," Rothstein said . "It’s UConn and Duke. It’s Duke and UConn.
And that is reiterated when you really dissect the rosters of the other Blue Blood programs in college basketball. Rothstein continues his argument by dissecting the current rosters of three other programs – Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina – who many might consider blue blood. “As of today in the Rothstein 45, which I update every single day based on if there’s any roster changes in college basketball,” he said.
“Kentucky’s ranked 40th, Kansas is ranked 30th and North Carolina is ranked 26th. Of those three rosters right now, Carolina has the best roster. ” I’m sure fans of the Tar Heels, Jayhawks and Wildcats will love hearing this.
