The Golden State Valyries front office has made some questionable moves this offseason. Fans were incensed when the franchise drafted former LSU Tigers star Flau’jae Johnson with the eighth overall pick, only to trade her to the Seattle Storm for the 16th overall pick, Marta Suarez, and a future second-rounder.
Suarez has since been cut. Valkyries general manager Ohemaa Nyanin explained to reporters on Golden State’s media day that the move was made in order to maintain cap flexibility under the league’s new collective bargaining agreement, but fans still weren’t satisfied with how things played out. On Thursday, another move was made that has the fans up in arms.
