John Calipari has 1 wish for an expanded NCAA tournament field
John Calipari has his doubts about an expanded NCAA tournament field, but thinks one format could make it worthwhile.
As USA TODAY Sports and others race to find out what an expanded men's and women's NCAA basketball tournament would look like, Arkansas head coach John Calipari is one person who is skeptical about the decision. With that said, coach Calipari has one request that he believes could redeem the idea of going to a 76-team field. "I am a big believer in the idea that if it's not broke, don't fix it, and I think that applies to the NCAA Tournament," Calipari told CBS Sports.
"Having said that, if we are to expand, my hope is that at least half the spots are held for non-Power Four teams. If they do that, we are making the decision for the right reasons. " John Calipari was asked by @CBSSports about tournament expansion today - and our guy did NOT mince words.
