Former Ohio State kicker Jayden Fielding to Canadian Football League
Jayden Fielding's career at Ohio State was full of ups and downs. He'll now have a chance to kick north of the border.
The Ohio State kicking game has been a sore spot in recent years for much of Buckeye Nation. Going back all the way to the 2022 Peach Bowl against Georgia , when Noah Ruggles missed a 50-yard field goal to send the Bucks to the title game, fans cringe when they see a kicker jog onto the field. Who can blame them?
Missed field goals in some of the biggest moments against the likes of Oregon , Indiana, Miami, and Michigan have cost OSU dearly. Probably the most maligned kicker in Ohio State history has been the most recent, Jayden Fielding. Maybe it was his boisterous attitude, saying he felt comfortable from 60 yards when he consistently had trouble with what should have been routine kicks.
Fans have probably never felt more relieved to see a player move on. After going undrafted in this year's NFL draft, Fielding has been signed to a professional contract by the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League . He'll have the opportunity to compete to be the starting kicker.
