The Carolina Panthers have reportedly parted ways with a defender ahead of this weekend's rookie minicamp. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the team is releasing linebacker Jacoby Windmon. The 24-year-old has spent parts of the last two seasons with Carolina.

The Marrero, La. native and Michigan State University product cracked into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. He'd be signed off their practice squad by the Panthers later that year, in mid-October.

Windmon would return to Pittsburgh after being waived by Carolina in the summer of 2025. He then headed back to the Panthers a few months later in November, and signed a reserve/future contract following the 2025 campaign. In his pair of seasons with the Panthers, Windmon recorded 22 combined tackles, a sack and a half and two passes defensed over nine games.

He also made two starts as a rookie in 2024. Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content. This article originally appeared on Panthers Wire: Panthers roster moves: Carolina reportedly releases LB Jacoby Windmon
