Defenders Jasper Moon and Geraldo Bajrami, as well as midfielder James Jones and the 19-year-old pair of Jack Newall and Josh Taroni are the others who are leaving the Pirelli Stadium. Tavares, 25, played a part in keeping the Brewers in the third tier on his arrival on loan from Coventry City last season, and did the same again this term after joining the east Staffordshire side on a one-year deal.

His scored eight-goals in 35 appearances in 2025-26, with his final goal coming in Burton's last day draw with Leyton Orient. Moon, who initially joined Burton on loan in January 2023 from Barnsley to help the club stay in League One under Dino Maamria, scored his first and only goal for Burton in a draw with Exeter City that secured the Brewers' safety. Jones, 30, featured only four times after arriving from Wrexham last season, with a knee injury curtailing his impact before failing to win back his spot this season.

Bajrami, 26, made his last Burton appearance in August before spending the rest of the campaign out on loan with League Two side Crawley. Likewise, Newell saw out his contract while on loan with non-league side Alfreton, as did Taroni at Spalding United.
