Former Vol plays 10 minutes in Game 2 of the Minnesota-San Antonio series in the NBA playoffs.
San Antonio defeated Minnesota, 133-95, on Wednesday in the NBA Western Conference semifinals at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. The best-of-seven series is tied, 1-1. Former Vol Julian Phillips played 10 minutes for the Timberwolves in Game 2.
He totaled three points and one steal against the Spurs. Phillips converted 1-of-3 field goal attempts and his only three-point attempt. Victor Wembanyama scored 19 points in 26 minutes for San Antonio, while Anthony Edwards totaled 12 points in 24 minutes for Minnesota.
Game 3 will take place Friday at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:30 p. m.
EDT. Phillips played one season as a freshman at Tennessee. He appeared in 32 games, including 25 starts, for the Vols during the 2022-23 season.
