Jeglertz's pride at creating Man City's 'winning culture'

Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz says the club have created a "winning feeling" that they hope can lead to sustained success. In his debut campaign in charge, the Swede led them to a first Women's Super League title in a decade, ending Chelsea's six-year dominance. City were confirmed champions on Wednesday night as Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Brighton meant the third-placed team could not surpass City's 52-point tally.

"I had a conversation with [captain] Alex Greenwood in September where we talked about needing to start to say that we can win the league," Jeglertz told BBC Sport. "That was probably the first time we actually spoke about it as a group. The culture is the fundamental bit - how do we act together, how do we train, how do we show up every day?

"That is what is building a winning culture. It's not about only winning games, it's what you do every day. That is something that I'm proud to have created.

"That's also something that you can build on for the future, not just winning it one year. It's about being able to win multiple trophies for multiple years. " City have been top of the table since 9 November and it is their first WSL title since 2016.

They won the league with a game to spare and a six-point lead over second-placed Chelsea, while Arsenal are four points further back. "The mental stress has been there since November and everybody's been speaking about us playing like champions," said Jeglertz. "But we had only two players who have won the title before.
