Ole Miss hires another former LSU football assistant
Ole Miss added another former LSU football assistant, hiring Patrick Kelly, the son of ex-LSU head coach Brian Kelly.
Another former LSU football staffer has joined the Ole Miss Rebels. Patrick Kelly will head to Oxford as Ole Miss's assistant director of football support. Kelly, the son of former LSU head coach Brian Kelly, worked at LSU from 2022-25.
Kelly worked several different roles in Baton Rouge, spending time as a coaching graduate assistant and in the recruiting department. LSU and Ole Miss have become tied together this offseason after a flurry of coaching moves between the two schools. The biggest of which was LSU hiring ex-Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and a handful of Kiffin's assistants.
After LSU made changes, former LSU general manager Austin Thomas and LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson both landed at Ole Miss. Kelly's connection to Thomas made Ole Miss a logical landing spot. LSU will face Ole Miss on Sept.
