WWE star’s ex-boyfriend facing decades in prison after trying to kill her: report
Fellow wrestler Rogelio Reyes, better known as El Cuatrero, found guilty of domestic violence and attempted femicide after attacking Stephanie Vaquer in Mexico in March 2023
The former boyfriend of WWE superstar Stephanie Vaquer is facing more than 50 years in prison after being convicted of domestic violence and attempted femicide in his native Mexico , according to reports. Rogelio Reyes – himself a wrestler who performs under the name “El Cuatrero” (The Cattle Rustler) – was arrested in Aguascalientes and charged in Mexico City in March 2023 over an incident in which he grabbed Vaquer by the throat and slammed her into a wall. A picture hanging nearby was said to have been knocked loose during the fray and caused further injury to Vaquer, who then called the police, prompting Reyes to flee while she awaited medical attention.

According to El Heraldo De Mexico , Reyes, 30, was held at the Reclusorio Oriente prison from 2023 until March 2025 when he won a court injunction securing his release, having previously been denied parole. That allowed him to briefly return to the lucha libre (wrestling) ring, albeit only on the independent circuit after larger organizations washed their hands of him, competing as recently as late April.
He was found guilty over the assault on Vaquer Wednesday and will reportedly be sentenced Tuesday. Attempted femicide is a crime that carries a maximum sentence of 46 years in jail in Mexico while domestic violence is punishable by up to six years behind bars.
